BBC Blast Studio – Live(ish) control of machines

Control the machines via your desk

Cool concept.  Control machines in a studio such as a multi barrelled paint cannon.  Something very old school, art school, expensive school but none the less cool school about this.  The whole idea of having to queue to interact online is classic.  Fire away.

UNIBOOTY

Friday, October 17th, 2008

An interesting look into the way that the new Mac Books have their casing machined from one piece of solid aluminium. Mac artfully calls it the “Precision aluminium unibody enclosure”. The short video features the annoyingly slick Mac designers harping on about a piece of metal getting shaped. An interesting little watch none the less.

Rise of the palm projector

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Handy, maybe.  Cool, most likely.  Useless, most of the time.  Toshiba and 3M have just launched their versions of mini projectors.  The aim is to eventually fit them into cellphones.  I have a feeling we are going to require nuclear reactor battery packs to run these future phones.  If you could project multiplayer phone games, such as hand to hand combat titles I am sure that could gather some fans.  I’m interested.
Beam me up or out.
